FRC296 Robotics

As part of our fall 2020 offseason activities, we're offering students the opportunity to borrow an electronics tinker kit, which includes materials to build a miniature robot of your own. These sealed, disinfected kits will be loaned out for 2 weeks at a time, and will come with activities to complete and show off on Slack! There are 20 kits available for loan; reserve yours here!

For the first time, FRC Team 296 is offering students the opportunity to acquire a personal toolkit for use during lab activities! All students who want to be a part of hands-on activities must bring their own basic tools; we highly encourage you to buy the kit we've assembled. While the purchase isn't necessary, getting this starter kit of tools will be hugely useful in your own personal hands-on projects as well. 

The toolkit will also help ease the COVID-19 procedures required for hands-on activities, since less time spent disinfecting means less potential exposure to contaminated surfaces and more time for the fun stuff!

Please indicate on this form if you want to participate in BetaBots this year, knowing that we will be working on BetaBots robots in parallel with FRC activities.

While it is possible to do both BetaBots and FRC activities, it's important to realize where you want to prioritize your time, as both will require a minimum level of commitment. Additionally, we highly recommend doing BetaBots especially for new-comers to the team, since it will give a more broad training of all the aspects of robotics. Regardless, students will still be expected to attend workshops, general meetings, and guest talks throughout the season.
